Description

I was trying to find the search box in Poser to find the Skydome when I accessed Content and lo and behold my Content Paradise passport showed me "Rosie the Rivetter". Figuring out how to access what was downloaded was not totally impossible and I had an idea of what life will be like with VISTA when the Runtime folder in Program Files is offlimits to modification. The Rosie I knew at the plant was a very saucy computer operator who would sit on the desk next to the 2250 terminal until I needed a "mount" to save a run for hard copy on the SC-4020. Perhaps "friction stir welding" has altered all that now. I know I prefer "unpainted" planes to "stealth" and "cruise."

Certainly plain planes are best ... especially when combined with a 40s turban. I well remember women in those, though few were rivetters, most were cotton mill workers when Manchester was reknowned for its cotton. Sadly there are no iron-shod leather clogs here. We kids used our kiddi-clogs to kick sparks from the cobbled streets. Happy days! Thanks for that. Mike

Dear Dale, Im rushing like crazy, but Im going to try not too miss seeing too many of what everyone posts while Im gone. So - Im going to be doing a lot of cut and pasting with just a tiny little real comment added!! Im really sorry, but I just dont have any time right now to write my usual wacky stuff! Ive got a stack of manuals to learn that weigh as much as me!!! For real - I could barely push the luggage cart to my hotel room!!! Today was a lot of paperwork, recertifications, classes about hypoxia and weather, and a simulator intro. Tomorrow the white knuckle stuff get started in high gear!!! Ive posted Meredith_0256 so everyone knows why Im missing in action. That is probably all Ill be posting for a while. I really want to do something for Valentines, but I dont think that is going to happen. Ill be back on March 3rd!! Rosie was a very iconic image!! And yep, friction stir has changed things - so have composites!!! I suppose ceramics will be next!!! Love ya!!! Meredith Meredith Elaine Wilson - MeredithLand
