Description
Norton is a Reeves turtle from China. He is a used pet. His first family couldn't keep him, so they returned him to a pet store. We adopted Norton when he was about 15 years old. You can figure out a turtle's age by counting the scutes on it's carapace (upper shell). We've had him for 23 years, so he's 38 now. His lifespan is about 60 years.
He enjoys basking under his heat lamp on his island. He does that after he eats. Since turtles are cold blooded, they need to heat their bodies to digest food.

Cute guy! Looks like he can almost make it up to standing on two legs!

Norton is beautiful! Your thumbnail looked alot like E.T.- Nice photo!!
Hi Norton, he is a good looking fellow, turtles rule.
He's a sweet turtle. I have 3 red eared sliders. We got one 12 years ago when he was a 1 inch shell and he's now 12 inches. Another was a rescue that was brought to the pet shop and we took her. She's about a 9 inch shell. And only 2 weeks ago, we took in another foundling - a 1 incher bought illegally and would not eat for the owners. It's eating like a hog and happy as one basking in the sun in a mud hole. :-)
How big is he? I have lots of "used pets". People should not take them home if they do not want to care for them. I tend to collect rabbits, hamsters, cats and horses, but we have had most everything.
Great facial expression. A little privacy, please?!
