Description

First off, this poster won't make much sense unless you check out my comic Non-Canonical on the Renderosity comics page. (Yes, a blatant plug, but also a sad, desperate plea for help.) Second, if you're wondering, "Hey, the original play was DEATH of a Salesman, which, let's be honest, sort of gives away the plot right there in the title. So how can Willy Loman, the aforementioned salesman, come back for a sequel?" If you're wondering all that well -- this "movie" stars a dinosaur with a Gatling* gun! So I don't think the question as to how Willy Loman returns really needs to be answered. But, okay, you see, he faked his death (which, after all was via a deliberate car accident) and then he went deep undercover for a top secret spy agency, and then there was the training in the Himalayas...yadda yadda, etc. etc. And finally, I confess that this was partially inspired by the fake trailer-in-a-movie for "Hamlet" in "Last Action Hero." I liked that movie, although it did rather poorly at the box office. One more thing. This is the real "finally." I got this idea for a side-project for my comic -- that would be Non-Canonical which you can check out on the Renderosity Comics Page -- but now that I think about it I may (may!) roll the idea for this movie into the comic itself. Somehow. Okay. That's it. Oh...one more thing. Really, this IS the last one. There is a fine line between comedy and stupidity, and I'm never quite sure which side I land on with these "wacky" ideas. Feel free to let me know. ------ Yes, I know it is technically a chain gun, but "Gatling" sounded better for the comedic flow of that sentence. ------ [Added 09Jan07] I was asked...weeks and weeks ago, what's the deal with the subtitle, "The Stromberg Codex Formula Agenda?" While realizing that it is never good to explain jokes, I'll plunge in anyway. (1) The idea is to contrast the conflicting goals, hopes and failures of a post-war American family, that is, their intensely personal struggles, with the wild free for all of a $150 million action movie. (2) The title itself is intended to parody of action film titles by the addition of all the extra modifiers. Finally, we can see from this largely pointless afterpost, that explaining jokes is, in itself, a dull and unfunny exercise. I apologize.
