Description

Taken on my 17-85 IS USM. Post in photoshop. Whilst Rachel was in her interview i went for a wander around looking for photo opportunities. I was initially looking for a shot of North Bridge - but couldnt find one. So i was on Market street (for those who know edinburgh it is the street that runs underneath the bridge on the old town side) and saw all of those alleys/closes which run uphill through narrow and not so narrow gaps in the buildings this one is next to Old Saint Paul's Church and is one of the wider ones. I wasnt going to take a shot of it initially, i was just using it to get onto the Royal Mile (High Street), but then out of the side door to the church pops this old guy with a walking stick, so i stop, and by the time my camera is out of the bag he is in the perfect position - so snap snap snap ;) Thanks for stopping by and taking a look. Enjoy! Rich http://album.cogia.net/index.htm

the railing dissecting the image and disappearing in the gate makes up a great visual axis for the rest of the image. very good.

Nope, it was not quite B&W. You have good eyes and a good monitor. :) Now this is B&W, and lovely, especially the way the eye is led into this very spacial image.

Excellent perspective. That rail really sucks you in towards that arched opening. Beautiful B&W indeed. Have a great weekend Rich. #:o)

Great POV, & it never hurts to get a man with a walking stick, or umbrella, to pose for you!
