Description

There must be something in the Missouri air that is attracting "Walking Sticks" this year, as I've seen more of them in this past month than I have in my entire lifetime. This afternoon, as we arrived home from grocery shopping, this honeymoon couple caught my attention along the bottom edge of our garage door. I didn't want to raise the door and risk hurting them so, while my ice cream was melting in the hot car, I ran inside the house for the camera. I figured this was a once in a life time opportunity for me to capture this overture of love between two such unique creatures. Once the photo session was over, the couple seemed agitated with my poking and prodding to get them to move on but I needed to get in the garage and salvage what was left of my frozen foods. Next time they'll just have to call ahead for reservations and put out a "Do Not Disturb" sign.

Cool pic. I captured a few frames a praying mantis just the other day (I posted the best) and in discussions around the house we talked about walking sticks but none of us had seen one in years and there you go, you caught 2 at once!

I personally have never seen them together before! That is a most fancinating shot you have there! I kinda just wonder what these bugs really think of all of us taking shots of them in these most private of moments? It is a fantastic shot and I hope you got your ice cream in the house before it complete and utter slush!
