The eyes are very reflective and I think they would reflect so much in real life only if they were brimming with tears, so I agree with GinaC: she does look sad and it is a beautiful portrait. Minor criticisms: the hair on the right of the picture (her left) falls away more naturally than the hair on the left of the picture and the back hair may be rather more brightly lit than it should be.
