Description
Although principally tropical and Asian in distribution, walking sticks are also found in temperate regions of Europe and North America. I guess the morning dew in Missouri was temperate enough to attract this little critter. This is the best shot he was going to let me get this day. I tried posing him a couple of times but he didn't take directions very well.Since their defense is to stiffen, freeze, and look like grass, every time I tried to touch him he became rather rigid and boring to look at. So, I had to be patient and let him do his own thing in the morning dew, and be content with the one image he did let me get.

nice capture. I'm still trying. They have another defense (sprayed my lens and the dog) a nasty odor. lol ;-]

Wow great capture! I have had what someone said was a baby walking stick to bite in on the toe and dang if that didn't smart for hours. I am glad that you were able to get one. He is a biggen. Well done!
