Description

I was attempting to use SkyTracer2 for this cityscape, but my computer kept crapping out on me. So in frustration, I took my digital camera outside and shot some sky and just used it as a backdrop image. The cityscape "Dystopia

Hopkins - Yes, I did model all the buildings one by one :). They are now available for FREE download from the LW freestuff section. The first 4 city blocks (I used only 7 blocks in this scene) took more than four hours to complete, the rest took under four hours. There are 20-blocks now available. What takes forever is finding a new idea for a good background type building. It shouldn't really stand out, but then it also can't look too boring. It's really not as difficult as it looks since these are all primitives, no fancy splines.

very cool lighting effects, the sky is great. I would tone the sky down just a bit because it seem a bit to bright for night time.. other than that this ROCKS!! keep up the great work..

Once again thanks man. You have saved me a buttload of time and energy by making the city. This scene looks awesome, hope I can do your work justice with my renderings.

The same think of hypronost about the sky. Sorry but what kind of city is this?, i mean, i don't know any architecture samples as this one. Great Render the lighting gives special life to the buildings.

Thanks, jlserr. The city is a personal pet project (so the architecture is mine), it's supposed to be used as sci-fi background props. You can download them from the LW freestuff section if you are interested. :)

Very good, pitty about that skytracer, it seems to hang first, but you just have to let it go (generating a sky takes 30 minutes on my 400Mhz. PC). And I really like your city blocks!!
