Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

I have seen many of those situations in norway: trees on a rock, very impressive!
Het groeit tegen de klippen op! (untranslatable for the non-dutchies, unfortunately). Marvelous shot!
A difficult capture, indeed. But you did very well. It's amazing how things continue to thrive and grow even under the most adverse of conditions.Thank you for showing us a fine example of one of them.Have a lovely weekend,JC!-M :^)
very beautiful capture
C'est ce qui s'appelle tirer parti du moindre espace !
klasse!!! looks great... love how those trees are growing there... and great colours... well done!!!
Very interesting geography here. There must be many crevices in the rocks for the trees to grow so well. Excellent shot -- it makes a very pretty scene.
You managed a compo pretty all right!! I love that green mossy stone! Excelent shot again!
Great picture. It's symbolic for some people's lives, who survive in an impossible situation. Have a good day, J.C.!
Huh? Is that tree coming out from that rock??? That must be some determined roots it has, lol. Beautiful colors on those rocks btw, almost looks as if it was rusty. Have a wonderful weekend. #:O)
You see them here doing that. Always amazing their determination to survive at all costs. Interesting idea for a photo. I see you perched on a steep rock here!lol.
Love what nature can do, survival ot the strongest, like the colors:):)..v
most amazing are the colors of the rocks. very nice shot!
tolles Bild , wo ist die Dragon's Cleft an der Weser zu finden oder hat diese nichts damit zu tun?
In Spring, the mind locks on life in such sterile, unyielding situations.
Wonderful they seem to be rock trees....nature is so amazing.
seems the trees don't need much to grow, but the composition of natural colors is amazing! the yellow blooming looks very contrastful against the strange rock formation! I really love this photo! ;o)
These are really cool looking rocks, and you've managed an excellent capture! It is amazing that those trees survive here :)
They must be hardy indeed, to be growing right atop the rocks. Great shot, the angle is wonderful. Good job, Jan!!
Beautiful colors. Excellent photo!
Beautiful!!!!!
wowww, very impressiv trees in the rocks!!! Excellent capture with perfectly lighting!!! Good day and kiss ;)
la nature et vraiment formidable tres belle image
Excellent Capture of these mossy rocks...=]
I too like all the colors on the rocks. Excellent capture!
Remarkable way of survival. Funny how these trees are always on a spot where there is no space for the photographer to manoeuvre. Great shot nevertheless.
Interesting subject and POV. This indeed looks to be the haunt of dragons!
Well, I guess once the're beginning to grow, it's very difficult for them to move to a more comfortable place... I think a tree is such an amazing creature. The amount of material it produces as it grows, and where does it get that material from? Anyway, I love this picture with those beautiful rocks and their inhabitants. You did manage to make an excellent composition of it, JC.
Wow thats cool, not something i see normally around here, then again dont really have any mountains either, lol. Awesome photo for sure.
What an interesting find, this really make you think !!
