Description

Along the water many flowers bloom in the humid soil, like this white butterbur (Petasites albus), that can appear in somewhat dense populations but always living close to moving water in the vicinity. Minolta X-700 (Agfa 100 CTi, 50 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

These remind me of these weeds that used to have the most beaut blue flowers blooming and I used to pick them for my mom as a kid. She only told me when I was older that those were weeds... Hee

they are beautiful Jan-Carel. I assume they are weeds, but often the term is relative because their flowers rival so called garden flowers

...and I thought Butterbur was just a fat old inkeeper who only remembers his name because people shout it at him all day. Nice to see what it actually looks like!

To me they're flowers. To you they have a name. I think they're fine, you think they're beautiful. Some African tribes have different words for different hues. We have "green", "dark green", etc, or turquoise and olive. To them each hue is a different color. They see things differently. I hope some day I'll be able to distinguish between beautiful flowers. Your pictures encourage me to view nature as it is.
