Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

lovely with the flowers in the front. :) a little sad that the background is dark/grey...so the statue disapears a bit. but besides that, the picture is great hugs
what a lovely scene here, awesome photo for sure.
Another great man from history. What type of soil do they have in Eisenach? Have a great day, J.C.!
altijd interesant om zoiets te bekijken, je hebt er echt het oog voor.....
Love the detail on the bottom in the base. Lovely work!
I like this photo, Jan-Carel!! So much to look at here. Super statue, the base of it is beautiful too. The pretty, bright flowers are wonderful. All in all, top notch I'd say. Excellent work as always... Happy day hugs :-)
A wonderful European city scene. I wonder why they make religious figures look so grim.
I was going to agree with Buffalo1, but then if you took on the most powerful religion of the time that might give you cause to be a bit grim. lol! Great shot as always, Jan-Carel!
those flowers set him off quite well
Very beautiful and elegant picture, takes me back in time...I like it very much, thank you.
An image to meditate on, what life is about, how should we live and how we should not waste what we have been given:):)..V
Nice composition. I like the splash of colour in the foreground. :0)
A fitting tribute to one who was persecuted for daring to image life free from many of the arbitrary conventions of his day and for his courage to express those convictions. The sculptor has certainly captured the defiance and stoicism so much a part of his character.
Very quaint little park like setting.Nice shot of the statue and the flowers. Thanks for sharing.Have a wonderfulday my friend
Wonderful shot of martin Luther. If they haven't restored it yet, maybe someone should contact the Lutheran Church in America, they are everywhere here and would surely be glad to raise the funds to restore it.
The old sculpture don't looks so well after all the time that has passed! Fantastic capture!
Excellent capture....lighting is perfect. This picture tells a story and I like that. Nice work!
Excellent shot of this Luther statue. I like the light and the flowers around too!
Superb capture... history has been writed in this place. Excellent !
Excellent and impressive-looking sculpture, and a wonderful shot to commemorate it.Love the touch of the flowers in the front. Thanks for sharing this lovely place with us,JC.
cool shot here. there a lot of history here
Oh I like this photo which gives a real feel for Urban living there. The trees and the different tones on the buildings make quite a nice framework for the statue. Another excellent image!! V :-)
Very kewl slice of life here! What a pleasant spot to have this statue stand in....great shot! Aloha!
Its very difficult to take a picture of a dark statue (for me that is). That greenish coloration on the statue might be a blessing for photography as it brings out the statue more. Excellent shot. Aloha
Great monument. Beautiful viola border.
This is just about perfect. Like Sharky I have great difficulties in shooting dark statues, while it is just that that I am thinking of doing in the near future (my city of Ghent abounds in wonderful statues). Maybe I should buy a new camera? I'm not a photographer, I just take snapshops that sometimes turn out nice. YOU are a photographer, and you take wonderful pictures!
This statue could definitely use a good cleaning! Excellent photo Sir! Have a most wonderful day!
staue of higher learning! lot's of character and excellent sculpture
