Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2026 May 14 3:15 pm)
When you save the pose, use the "Select Subset" button to select the body parts you want to save the pose for. In other words, if you only want to save an arm motion, select the correct arm components using the Select Subset option and then only the arm motions will be saved in the pose file. I do suspect that if you're animating a magnet you will have to save the most extreme setting as a morph and then animate the application of the morph to the figure.

I'm sorry. At this point, this one has me stumped. Out of curiosity, are those "automatic created keyframes" just keyframes added to the existing pose or are they completely different positions?

no they are just keyframes aded to the pose; they do not change the position. Normaly i wouldt care, but if i for example also ad my created circle for animating wind in the hair of the figur (25 fps) i get the beginning frames of this circle also adad to the animation. It makes the other bodyparts just harder to edit cause i got so many keyframes for them that are just useless (in this exampe in frame 1,25,50,75,76,100,125,150,151 etc) If i ad this circles to an allready existing animation its hard to find ot whitch frames could be deleted, and whitch should better be keept. Some of the necessary frames of those limbs could be accidently on the same positions as the automatcly created are. Chiropraktiker

Hello, How can i create animations that just contain only the necessary keyframes? I was trying to make a breath circle, using the magnet deformer. The circle is about 50 frames long. When i saved it as a pose i ended up saving the whole pose (including keyframes for all the other bodyparts i dont want to have saved). Using this pose results that my figur allways takes the whole pose i have saved, overwriting all the other new made poses i want the breath circle to combine with. After opening the breath pose-file in bbEdit, and deleting all ascii-pose-information about the bodyparts i dont want to have saved, works so far that that at least a combination of the breath-circle with the new animation is possible without rewriting the whole new animation (just adding the information for the magnet). But now still i got the problem having keyframes generated for all bodyparts at the first frame (but only the first frame) everytime i import the breath circle. Is the a possibility to realize it to also get rid oft that automatic generated keyframes? For examlpe if you ad a hand-pose, the are only frames generated for the hands, not for the rest of the body- Maybe this makes clear a little bit more what i mean..... I hope somebody can understand this Thanks a lot Chiropraktiker
