Subject: is there someting like a mximum amount of keyframes in poser 4?

hi out there, i just encountered a problem i didnt realized before; id like to do an animation of a about 98 secounds with a frame rate of about 25 fps. A friend lipsinced a spoken wav file for me (mimic) which has about 2450 frames. Importing works the same as rendering, but its nearly a horror to edit some parts of it manualy. The graph window looks strange, the editing area for each frame turned really small. I also got about three graphs in the graph-window of each morph target (ive never seen that before). How can i delete the unnessesary graphs? Also, is there a chance to enlarge the display of the frame range like in after-effects or sound edit? Or do i have to split the whole animation in 999 frame fragments to make it editable? I havnt found something about it in the manual. Chiropraktiker

I don't know if there is a limit, beyond your system resources. Longer animations naturally require more memory.

The counter only displays three digits (up to 999), but you can have more than 1000 frames. Click on the counter to enter a 4-digit number manually, if necesssary.

When you import a sound file into Poser, the graph also displays the sound's waveform in blue, as a visual aid for manually syncing an animation with the sound. Stereo sound files have two waveforms, of course. This is probably what you're seeing. If it bothers you, you can delete the sound ...

Animation menu --> Clear Sound

... while you're editing, and then re-import the sound from the File menu when you're ready to render your animation.

Poser scales the graph in relation to the length of the animation. This is not necessarily a good thing, especially with long animations, when you're trying to edit keyframes. Grab the ends of the sliders and drag to increase/decrease the graph scale.

Thanks Little Dragon for that fast help,

i got that graph-scale thing now, but what you discribed as waveform in blue is not what i got displayed (picture). I can not delete the graph via

Animation menu --> Clear Sound

cause i didnt import a sound file at all. I put the soundfile unter it later on in after-effects, cause i have to render the sequence in 3 parts (My system memory cannout deal rendering the whole animation at once)

Im working with the mac version that as far as i can see only accept .aiff sound-files of poser, and my friend generated the mimic pz2 file with a pc which wanted a .wav sound-file for generating. Poser tells me on launcing the mimic pose that it cant find the sound-file.

When im importing the aiff-sound file i got 3 red graphs plus the blue sound graph.

Im not really sure but i got 3 Characters speaking in that animation. Is there maybe something like a side-effect if morph targets with the same name on different figures are used?

It works anyway, but i would like to know what this red graphs are....

All right, that is odd. The two additional red lines might be some sort of visual glitch in the graph, or an idiosyncrasy of the Mac version of Poser.

I loaded a couple of figures and applied Mimic files to each, but didn't get the multiple-line effect in my graph. I only see the line for the currently selected figure, which is how I assume it's supposed to work. I'm using the PC version, with Pro Pack.

I've since discovered that you can also hide the blue waveform visual by clicking the Sound Display button on the bottom of the graph.
