Subject: Has anyone tried exporting models into VRChat?

To those who know what VRChat is, have you tried exporting a model from poser and then import it into that game? If so, what has your workflow been? As far as I understand, it should be:

  1. Export from poser as FBX
  2. Bring it into Blender for adjustments and decimation, export again as FBX
  3. Bring into Unity, re-rig, prep for VRChat, and upload to the game servers with its SDK.

As far as I've seen, no one is using any Poser or even Daz Studio models in VRChat, so probably the process is a lot harder than I think it is. If anyone has any experiences with this, I'd appreciate any info on how you got things to work. Thanks in advance for any replies.

No one is using any poser or Daz figures because you have to remember all these (characters) use a base figure which is copyrighted to the creators of said figures G8 V4 Pauline... Who ever they all belong to someone or a company ,So I can't just take let's say G8 convert to work in that game and upload her into that public game. You can do your own though model and rig and upload that. which is probably the reason you don't see these figures from here on those types of games .but figures they have made themselves .

Forgot you really needs to ask ,the creator of the figure and the creator of the character using the figure before moving on with doing something like that for your own legal safety and make sure THEY give you the green light and not people on forums who have nothing to do with the product or figure or character you plan on using on or in that game. Check first before doing anything.

Don't get discouraged though.. Just check directly, they do have game license, some aren't a lot some are or check for any open source figures that allow you to do whatever with it, that way you can practice with those.(or any other one privately) it feels good to create your own figures but it's 100 times better to see that same figure running around shooting things up (and other players up) I started by modding Unreal Tournament figures in Maya to reupload into the game and use those instead years before Unreal engine was even available to the public so yeah I understand the feeling it is to have your own custom figure in a game completely. Just ..you know make sure it's allowed first. Shit even if I didn't know how to model I would have uploaded a stick figure into a game just to know.....I did it and it worked, So don't give up.

Paul and Pauline are open source figures. That means you can modify them and do pretty much whatever you want with them. You just can't resell/redistribute them as-is, they have to be modified in some way.

The same is not true for any of the other Poser or Daz figures.
