Subject: 2 questions about mat room images

Boni ( ) posted Wed, 20 April 2016 at 4:08 PM · edited Mon, 01 December 2025 at 3:49 PM

I'm not a master of Python Scripts, nor am I a master at understanding all the scripts that come with Poser.

  1. Is there a script or plug-in that can help batch load image files based on their numerical classification: (i.e. 1_skinface, 2_torso ...) so if we have a setup we like we can apply to all the same classifications. Note: this was an amazing feature in EZmat, which unfortunately does not work in PP11.

  2. Is there a way to delete image files from the drop-down menu in the image pop up. If I am testing a group of character textures this file can get very long with textures that are not being used. I understand that if you shut down Poser and restart that clears the list, but that is not always an option.

For question #1: There is a new version of ez mat that works in poser11. Since we can't post the link here, I'll have to tell you where to go. Here on renderosity, look for posts on ez mat and Poser11 keywords.

For question #2: My workstations are busy doing Firefly IDL mesh light demos for Earl Clark, but try clearing the texture cache, and reload textures.

Thunderstone ... you CAN post a link, it just can't be live. In other words you can post the URL, just not link it. I'm surprised at the EZmat ... I hadn't heard anything from snarlygribbly about it. I will look it up. thank you.

Seachnasaigh: I know about reloading textures (that does NOT work), but I don't know about clearing the texture cache ... I'm sure it's a small thing I missed, but how does one do that?

Edit : general preferences, then look around. I can't screenshot it 'cause my workstations are tied up again.

Thunderstone: I just realized that you may be referring to EZskin3. That is an AMAZING plug-in, but doesn't have that one feature.

Seachnasaigh: I am trying the cache that you mentioned. I also discovered the UI scale and with my visual impairment it is a WONDERFUL discovery, thanks to you. 😄

Boni: Would this be what you're looking for: Advanced Materials Manager 2 over at RDNA? http://www.runtimedna.com/Advanced-Materials-Manager-2.html ? I don't know if it's there or at DAZ but check out the description. Also check out their script section: http://www.runtimedna.com/-Scripts-/

Great news if that's Renderosity's official position - can I quote you on that ? (I recently had a freebie put on hold because i included URLs in the description)

The 3Dcheapskate (also available in DAZ and HiveWire3D flavours) occasionally posts sensible stuff. Usually by accident.
And it usually uses Poser 11, with units set to inches. Except when it's using Poser 6 or PP2014, or when its units are set to PNU.

I've quoted you on that in this question "DEFINITIVE Answer Please ! Are NON-HYPERLINKED Offsite Freebie URLs Allowed" thread in the Community Center.

I really do hope that's Renderosity's official position - NON-hyperlinked URLs would be fine for the sort of cross-references I'm interested in. Not quite as good as hyperlinked ones, but it'll suffice.
