I saw a neighbor working on an image in photoshop and paintshop pro, though this is not about psp, but essentially he did the same thing with both programs, I guess just different tools.

In photoshop:

He had x number of images open.  he selected one as the background, sorta just white.  well anyway he selected a tool or several tools i dont know but basically he started either painting or airbrushing and an image appeared.  do all of you under stand what I mean?  It was like it was preset or pre-created.  I had to leave and since then he has had to dploy, my neighbor is in the navy.  I saw him switch to psp and using I dont know what tools again he placed deer, trees a whole lot of stuff.  what in the heck did he do???  I am lost, the only info I got from him was something about tubes and premade brushes that he downloaded for free somewhere.

how did he paint all those fairies animals and the like with out really trying?  It was like the tools were defined to spray or brush out particular images.  crap!  I hate deep learning curves.

He was probably using what is called  a "Tube" in PSP.

It can be done in PhotoShop as well by making a custom brush, but it's not as straightforward.

I didn't get exactly what was your friend doing! But as i understood, if i did right.. Since it was a white background "IN FACT IT WON"T MATTER (The Colours)" and you said he started to pain fairies and animals.. That means he used Prushes and Shapes.. And you can get them from 1000's of sites online..

Now the question is, do you have photoshop shop so i can link you with more details how to install them? And what version of that Photoshop you are using

this may solve some of the problems with me not being fully aquainted with ps and psp. 

An example:

For a book cover jacket I created and sold to the author, I did a study over a 7 wk period and just one of the subjects in the cover art I completed 322 drawings and sketches all of them complete and stand alone by themselves.  the are scanned and saved on the computer I am working on now.  I did this illustration complete by hand.  can I use whatever it is you just said to create my own and place these images of mine of my own creation and copyright  into these "brushes and tubes" and place them however and or where ever?  This may seem like a stupid question, but...
