Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2026 Jun 19 5:33 am)
Good work! Especially considering you used raytracing! I gave up on the P5 firefly renderer a long time ago. WAY too many problems to list. Enough to not even bother with animation! So if I'm reading correctly, you rendered straight to file and not to stills? If that's the case, then P6 is definitely more stable than P5. Guess I need to get on the ball with upgrading :0)

...and when the day is dawning...I have to say goodbye...a last look back into...your broken eyes.
P6 has been remarkably stable on my system. Over the past two months I've rendered several animations that were hundreds of frames in length, often using advanced shaders, raytracing, and/or dynamic cloth. And though I usually prefer the image-sequence approach, I'm starting to feel more confident about rendering directly to .avi. My gecko animation was rendered as an .avi, before conversion to MPEG-1.

I usually never render entirely in Poser 6, but I decided to give it a go this time. Damn that thing is slow if you are using raytracing, lots of transparency and refraction. The animation is in Windows wmv format... I usually never use that either... 640x480 and around 1.3MB in size.
