Subject: Tattoo texture ?

Ok, I wasn't quite sure what to call the subject. Anyhow, I would like to place a custom tattoo image on a V3 characters texture that would render right above her jeans on her "rear end". This might seem like a simple question, but I'm new to Poser. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks :)

I didn't know we needed permission if it was just for one pic or something, private use and all....hmmm good thing I popped in. You can also simplify it a bit I think...instead of doing it all on the template and the texture; if you are just doing it for one pic....what I would do I think is just cheat a bit and add it onto the finished pic, postwork it basically. Also there are some fantastic free tattoos both on textures already done; wich may or may not have what you are looking for exactly; but as well as that there are psd formats so you can use it in a paint program and make it what you need. In a post worked pic a tube or brush would work as well. Hope that helps. Cheers!

You do not need permission from the original texture maker if you don't plan to redistribute the changed texture. For personal use in renders, it is fine. Karen Poser and Copyright Mod :-)

pop in with my bad spelling here lol to add the tat on her "rear end" you will have to do one side of the tat at a time as v3 has what we call a seam line down the mid of her body if you have the tat as a scan that is in your pc you can add it as a layer in photoshop Now if you want to make your own texture and add the tat to your texture it is still done the sme way one side of the tat at a time there are many tuts on how to mak a v3 texture your self if you need a hand feel free to im me I'm allways here some were

??? I had no idea either that I would have to get permission to "alter" a skin texture that I purchased if I want to put a tattoo on my character...why do I have to get permission if it's only for use in a image I'm creating, and not creating a tattoo to sell? guess this surprises and worries me a bit, if I add some little extra touches like that to my character, am I opening myself up for legal repercussions from the merchant?? thanks ahead for anyone who can enlighten me on this :)

Hi, blonderella, Karen clarified in post #4 that, if it is for your own use, you do not necessarilly need to ask permission, but you would need permission if you wished to distribute the altered texture. MS Poser Mod

You don't need to ask permission at all if you are altering a purchased texture for your own use. I've altered just about every single texture, morph, etc, I've ever bought-- mixed and matched, thrown two textures together to make a new one, used bump map from one texture on another. I ain't selling nothing. Or giving the altered versions away. Anybody want to jail me, they can try. But it would be silly.:))These are tools to have fun with, ya know. Emily adding a tattoo over a seam-- not my idea of fun, more power to you.
