Subject: Annoyance with the Correct Reference Tool

I selected my C drive to scan...however the program decided to scan ALL of HD's...which I have 3 120gig HD's & about 5 virtual drives.grrrrrrrrrrrrr.....on top of that I had an error message pop up regarding a CR2 & the program ceased scanning....Now then, I have this HUGE list of items that have "errors" some are legit others refer to these other drives that I use for backup purposes, it would be nice to be able to copy/print out this list so I can fix these items at my leisure & not on the spot. I've tried copy/paste to Word/Excel/Notepad to no avail, also tried the print screen way. Any ideas on how to do this???

Ya, it would be nice to be able to "save" the list or errors. Actually, my biggest grumble is that in P4, if you didn't convert a bump, it will change the reference in the cr2, pz2, whatever, to .jpg. So you have to go back, convert your bums, and the rescan and change all the refs by hand. :( But hey, it's free, and it works well. And it is a lifesaver for my poor poser files, especially the MATs from back when we first started using them. I had some great fun looking at the refs that some of them had. :D

Why are you scanning your C drive? Do you keep your textures in runtime/textures? If so when CR opens just click to stop the scan then navigate to your runtime/textures and tell it to use that one. This will be the texture directory it looks in for references. Then back in the main window, on the top, that directory you chose will be in the drop down. Select it. THEN in the section below navigate to your poser/runtime/libraries and select that. This is where you have all your cr2's etc you want to check. Then let 'er rip. If you keep Poser textures all over your harddrive instead of in runtime/textures then you've got a problem and it will take forever to correct everything.

I did have it set to the "texture folder" I was just referring to drive C as where the runtime folder "lives". But it decided to scan everything....even My Documents :O. Thanks folks, Debby

I had a problem with Correct Reference under Win 2000 Pro : it stopped scanning and told me it was unable to create a folder because there was another folder of this name. I did not thinl Correct Reference was supposed to creat folders ? May be an issue with Windows 2000 ?
