Subject: Re-draw Issue in Carrara 8.5?

chuckerii ( ) posted Wed, 23 October 2013 at 8:19 PM · edited Tue, 30 June 2026 at 5:15 PM

I upgraded to 8.5 and now when I select an object in the assemble room the screen flashes white, like it is re-drawing.  Anyone having this issue?  I'm on Intel Mac running 10.8.5.

I had that issue with 8.1 after upgrading to OS 10.3 and from then on.

However, I haven't experienced it with 8.5 - the released version (v216). Is 216 the version you have?

It appears to maybe only do it with files built in previous versions of Carrara?  It does it with a file I built at work with Carrara 8, but not with a new created file or a file I created and saved from 8.5.  More testing tomorrow, but I think I may be on to something.

OK, did some more testing this morning.  It does appear to only do the white flash re-draw thing when I use a file that was created in a previous version of Carrara (prior to 8.5).  If I create a new file in 8.5 or import an old file into a new file, everything works as it should.

Of course, it makes perfect sense. Not.
