Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2026 Jun 02 2:04 pm)
Hey Dee.
Sssst, you do not have it from me, but, euh,
Send the idea to "the boss" and earn yourself a bonus. :-)
"Initiative of the year." :-)
He, knows how BAD ot the BONE I am. LOL, in a productive way.
But I have those crazy idea's from time to time.
I agree on your remark.
Perhaps they would stay with their preferred 3D app for the inital creation, but it would reduce the workload with a lot less import-export-import-export and a lot of the fine tuning can be done inside Poser without going back and forward and back and forward......... A HUGE time saver.

Hexagon is abandonned and free.
www.anim8or.com is also free.
Also abandonned and free, but less powerfull and has no symmetry, but another free 3D app.
I think Silo is still "to pay for"?.
The biggest PRO would be a "standard" for building content.

Yep, but Silo also appears to be in the abandoned category. :(
I also think Silo would be a great way to introduce people to modelling. :)
Let us hope "the boss" reads this, and LOL does not get a nightmare. :-)
I defend the hobby end-user. How many of those can afford Zbrush?
Give them a "standard" way, with an easy internal workflow, to create something.
It will only make Poser more popular as a complete 3D app.

You know vilters, you got me thinking this morning, and this is in light hearted fun and said as a longtime member of this community ... Ready for this new feature suggestion? I think SM can nail it with four new tools in the Editing Tools palette.
MAKE NAKED WOMAN
MAKE LINGERIE
MAKE SWORD
MAKE TEMPLE.
(Hey, the holidays are coming. I'm in good spirits! LOL
Merry Christmas everyone!)

LOL now that I've recovered from my swoon (LOL), it would be cool to see something like that, and I do see your point. It would definitely enhance character and content creation to have some of those features within Poser itself.
But I also see a bit of a caveat. Right now there are a lot of folks out there using a lot of different modeling apps, and each has their own workflow and expectation of feature preferences. I wonder how many would continue to use their modeling app of choice regardless?
Still, it's an interesting thought for sure! You wicked, wicked man! ;-)
