Great stuff, everyone. I love 3dreams morphs. Alyson is a pretty figure. I think she needs more exposure.

Agreeing with you, Edgeverse... Poser people need a boost in usage. The big thing with V4 is her dialled morphs++ but now, someone has come up with some really awesome face morph sets for her that i solidly prefer. How hard would it be to make something akin to that for this girl? Seriously? I'd be buying it!

Well. if I get better at it I might give it a go. But right now can you  suggest a tutorial on texturing for character sets?

JohnDoe641 ( ) posted Mon, 16 May 2011 at 1:54 PM

Alyson has the most morphs I've ever seen on a stock Poser figure, she makes the rdna body morphs for the G2 and Miki figures look like nothing. There's so much you can do to change Alysons appearance that I was severely disappointed with how few morphs Miki3 came with compared to Alyson.

My only problem is that I can't find any clothing for Alyson and no skin/body textures. If I could find a lot of those, she could be the best figure I've ever used. Actually, let me reprhase that, I think she's the best figure I've ever used but the 0 amount of support keeps me from using Alyson.

What few clothes i do have for Alyson were done with Wardrobe Wizard. Although right now I'm having a problem with  the arms on long sleeve clothes.

**Plutom, WandW, RobynsVeil, edgeverse - **Thank you so much for your kind words :)

EClark1894 - I made the free faces for Alyson in 3D Studio Max ( http://arrow3d.com/3Dream-FreeFaceMorphs.htm ).

I don't use Face Room, Face Shop or Z brush.

I also did the 3D of my free figure (Lusitana) in 3D Studio Max: http://arrow3d.com/Fig3Drm.htm

I will add though that as long as you use a transparency map and don't need long arms, it looks fine. But I've got a question into PhilC  to see if there's a way to fix this. The MFD for Alyson would be a Godsend.

You need to open up the joint editor and fiddle with the size, shapes and placement of the innerMatCircle and OuterMatCircle on the bends to fix that. It takes some practice but it doesn't take long.

Thank you, EClark, for drawing our attention to what a versatile figure she is.

Wow!  There are eyebrow props for Alyson and Ryan in the hair folder! I never paid attention to this before. This means that we can get a lot more mileage out of the four skins they come with. We need some transmaps for the eyebrows with different eyebrow shapes. And some makeup overlays.

I reeeeeeeaaaaaaally wish that the Hair Conversion System and Texture Converter supported Alyson, it's so limiting without those two programs. At least WW in Poser8 works with her, though I keep messing things up and there's a few rips in the sweatpants.

But here's a render I did that tried to make her as different as I could without using the faceroom. I think I used a freebie face morph as a base and from there I randomly tweaked other settings to get a more unique shape and personality.

lkendall ( ) posted Tue, 17 May 2011 at 4:18 PM

Maybe the writter of TextureConverter2 sold at DAZ would be willing to write a plug-in for Alyson? Then we could convert all of our V3 and V4 textures for this figure.

lmk

Probably edited for spelling, grammer, punctuation, or typos.

It's not real, though!

But then... I can't really comment. The link is to a recent-ish image I did of P8 Alyson. (Full dorsal nudity, so watch out if that offends.)

I really wish that Vue8 wouldn't crash when I try to import Alyson. :(

Oh well, this weekened I'm going to brave installing Win7 Pro and add an additional 4GB to my system for a total of 8GB. Hopefully that'll be enough to handle importing Alyson. Curse you 32bit XP. >:[]

Vue isn't set up to read the new capsule falloff zones of the P8 figures.

JohnDoe641 ( ) posted Sat, 21 May 2011 at 12:24 AM

I've managed to Import Alyson a few times with the Repose option unchecked, but I get the OOM error after I do some stuff. People seem to be able to import Alyson with Vue8I though.

SteveJax ( ) posted Sat, 21 May 2011 at 5:07 PM

Well unless something has changed, the last I heard Vue couldn't understand the Poser 8 CR2 format with those extra falloff zones. I haven't upgraded to Vue 8 myself though. I would ask around over in the Vue forums at Cornicopia.

Hi Esther, you can almost do it yourself.   Use BB's skin nodes (I think) or Sasha_fashion's marissa_62843, I downloaded it 3 January 2011.  Sorry, you will have to dig back to around that date, I have problems setting up links.  It contains tons of nodes for skin shaders, then substitute Alyson, Maria etc heads and body textures.  It takes a little while to reconnect all the nodes to the new textures.  However, the results are really nice---IMHO.  Jan
