Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2026 Mar 05 8:06 pm)
If you're running Pro Pack or later, there's a Python script to compress all your obj/cr2/hr2/pp2/pz2/cm2/fc2/hd2/lt2/ files in Runtime:Python:poserScripts:Utility.
Although I'm not sure it works on pz3 files, or just the "internal" files in poser.
Also, if you do any sort of editting of the files (like using a text editor to change something in a cr2) you'll need to decompress the files in order to do that.

You're welcome.
I actually found out about the compress/decompress python script when I decompressed all of the default P6 content, just in case I need to go in and edit something in one of them.
And since most of my Poser content is on a 250 Gb drive, I'm not too worried about space.
Especially since a 500 Gb hard drive can be less than some top-of-the-line CPUs in price.

I noticed after i moved things to my new machine that the new compressed files save a ton of space, is there a utility to automatically compress all my files, or do i have to resave a then delete? I had a pz3 that was around 100 MB, compressed it got down to 20 or so... but it still left the original... trying to save space as i have around 15-20 GB of poser content thx d
