Subject: tree building question..

ive been playing with the tree modeler, but havent been able to figure this one out... is there a way to get a really twisty kind of tree? like a bonsai? i was fiddling with the advanced controls and got it to lean..lol..just wondering if anyone had gotten into making trees...

I don't think the tree controls will allow what you are describing. I think you will have to create some kind of workaround such as maybe converting the tree to a mesh and twisting it, or something else.

I tried for quite some time to get an old, gnarly tree. The tree modeler was very limited in getting me what I wanted. I ended up taking the results from the tree modeler and importing them into the vertex modeler and doing the final work there. Good luck, I would be interested to know how it comes out.

And a look at it rendered...and note I changed the default leaf to pine needle, I also adjusted the curve and angle of the trunk a bit. A little more tweaking and you could have a better shape.
