This is possible if you have Poser 5. You are able to host more than one runtime. I have added a runtime that was on a CD that I didn't want on my hard drive. You have to prepare a little bit though. Here are the steps. 1. Create a folder on your hard drive such as "Monster" 2. Create a folder INSIDE the "Monster" folder called "runtime". 3. Launch Poser 5 and add the new (empty) runtime to your library. This will automatically create ALL the folders that are required for a hosted runtime. They will be empty folders. It does not copy any runtime components over from one runtime to the new one. It only creates the needed folder structure for the runtime to be usable. 4. Install or move the character, prop, light, pose etc files into the proper folders in the new runtime. 5. Verify that the runtime works for you in Poser 5. 6. Burn the "Monster" folder (that contains the runtime) to a CD and deleate the original from your hard drive. Tip: If you are using an installer for your character (such as a DAZ figure), the new runtime will not show up as an install option because it is looking for the Poser.exe file. To get around this problem, copy the Poser.exe file and paste it into the "Monster" folder sio it is next to the "runtime" folder. Now when you launch the installer it will find the Poser.exe in the "Monster" folder and allow you to install into the monster runtime. After the figure installs, delete the Poser.exe file in the Monster folder and then burn it to the CD. Tah Dah! Hope this helps, Joe www-3_AXIS.comBut why not just simply POINT the installer to the place instead of letting it find it? It takes AGES and hitting cancel ant then pointing it to the right dir is far easier (imo) Ah but if you want to let the installer do ALL the work G the idea of a dummy Poser.exe is brilliant :o)

is it possible to divide Runtime directories, some on the hardrive and others on CD? I'd sure like to divide my sci-fi subject matter apart from my usual stuff on the HD. Thanks, ~Steve~
