Subject: Missing Links and/or thumbnails

bpclarke ( ) posted Wed, 14 November 2007 at 7:24 AM ยท edited Thu, 16 April 2026 at 11:54 PM

Hi,

I noticed that all of us who put in links to our last image are now missing them.  Is there a reason for that?  Mine went missing yesterday and I noticed a few others who do the daily reference like I do are now missing theirs too.

Hi Bunny,

Where were these links? On your gallery images?

Yes.  I put a link in my commentary each day so people can click on it and it takes them to the previous day's image.  They are gone on mine and a few others who do the same thing.

When you say your "commentary", are you talking about comments you leave on other people's galleries?

The comments feature is for you to leave your opinions and critique on others' works, not to invite users to your own gallery. Many members see this as spamming or advertising, particularly if accompanied by images. Your homepage is already hotlinked from your comment so interested members can easily view your gallery images and contact you from there.

I think she means that each time she uploads an image she puts a hyperlinked thumbnail  of her previouis upload, in her comments area   so that people can check it out.

Here is a thread in the Community Centre asking how it is done.

I've been doing it for a long time.  They are missing now.  And so are many others in the galleries.  Bunny

I'm showing the thumbnail in the comments areas is linked to that image you were showing?  I'm missing what is not working here?

Sorry

Has a thumbnail that you click on in the notes section and it goes to your last image which is

I see a thumbnail in the comments area too. Here is a screenshot.

Yeah, I think they went out partying for a couple of days and just showed up again.  Go figure.  Thank you.  :oD  Bunny

Okay I know now what the problem was, you have your links to excalibur.renderosity.com and not www.renderosity.com..  Members should always link to the www.renderosity.com so if there is a problem with an individual server, your links won't be affected as they are if you link to an indiviudual server like you have with the excalibur.renderosity.com links.

Hope that helps to know for the future
