February 2, 2013 11:45 pm
Each month the Renderosity community votes on the Renderosity Artist Of The Month [AOM] ... February's AOM is rukout!
Who is 'rukout' ?
Rukout is a team of 3D artists that collaborate in creating 3D architectural concepts, but also infuse their individual style and ideas in the creative process.
How long have you been working in digital art?
As a team, we started in 2007, we used to develop virtual lands and create custom content for the online game Second Life, then as we improved our 3D skills we gradually transitioned to architectural visualizations.
Do you have any traditional art experience?
Yes, in art it helps that you have good traditional skills to begin with.
What are you currently working on?
We are currently working on our 1st 3D animation that features some the 3D scenes that we already created, like Coffee Corner and Townhouses.
Who, or what, inspires you?
We get inspired from surroundings, books, movies, photos, and works of other artists.
What software is in your digital toolset?
We use 3ds Max with Vray as render engine for the environment, and Photoshop for the post work.
What do you think your best piece of work is and why?
Each works is different from each other so I can't really choose which one is best.
Do you have any tips you would be willing to share on architectural visualization, or on the software you use?
For me, simulating the realistic and photographic rendition is the main goal, and cool effects is the next thing. Software really doesn't matter, it is how well you make the image visually communicate with the viewer.
How has this online community (Renderosity) enhanced your work, relationships, and learning?
Rendosity has been a great community to gain exposure and be inspired by works of amazing artists of different genres. And from the people here who are generous with their support and feedback, we feel encouraged to continue and improve the craft.
Do you have any parting comments, or advice for other artists?
We are really grateful to the renderosity community for the nomination and for those who voted, Thank you guys! We are extremely honored and deeply humbled.
We invite you to have a further look at rukout's Renderosity Gallery, while we await the interview!

Artist of the Month is highlighting a talented Renderosity artist that has been nominated by mods and admins, and voted by the community. Recognition is given to this member for their collection of works for that year.
Since we only select one AOM per month, it is not about their works for that particular month. Instead, it is about highlighting a talented artist's works for that year, and they are recognized during that month.
