Entry #58

The Forest! -It was coming from the forest; a soft lonely voice was calling my name. I got out of bed and slowly made my way following the voice. I walked across our farm and arrived at the edge of the forest and raised my foot to step in. Something inside me screamed, "Don't go in there!" but I didn't listen- that voice in the forest was too haunting, it was too sad- I had to find out who was calling me. I am sure I had taken only three steps into the forest but I found myself completely lost. I couldn't seem to recognise the trees around me- the world seemed warped. Then the woman stepped out. Although I did not know this woman I already knew I did not like her. A great silence seemed to grow within me ... a dark ominous silence. "I was calling for so long, I thought you would never come." said the woman with a satisfied smile on her face. Before I could even reply, that woman- The Witch- had already eaten my soul. I belonged to her now. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Rendered in DAZ3D Advanced and Postowrk in GIMP. It took me about 5 hours to complete (and tons of test renders for lighting and depth field effects) I wanted it to have a surreal warped kind of feel with the Witch's face being ominously in focus. Now you know what it's like to see through the victim's eyeS! ^_^ My inspiration for this image came from thinking about the last thing I would like to see when I go where I should not have gone (think:don't go in there) and the thought of meeting a soul-eating Witch sent chills down my spine. I think it's the idea of a silent attack- maybe I watched too many Japanese Horror movies and read too many fairy tales.
