Topic Description
For this challenge participants are to create an insect. This could be something existing or something totally made up. This topic gives people of various skill levels a chance to make something cool, so take advantage of this opportunity. The insect could be as simple or as complex as desired. The insect may be rendered in any visual style. Postwork and compositing are allowed, participants are encouranged to use the tools they have, to produce the best image possible (while still following the challenge rules outlined above). Participants are encouraged to present their insect in an environment of some kind.

If the entry image is a composite, the insect must still be synthetic, (eg: One isn't allowed to model a twig and composite a photograph of a real insect onto it.) Participants may make multiple entries, of separate insects. Regardless, quality comes before quantity. Remeber, insects only have 6 legs; for our purposes, we will use the following loose definition:

Insect -- Three pairs of legs and a body segmented into head, thorax, and abdomen and usually, (not always), having two pairs of wings.

With approximately 1,000,000 know species of insects on earth, and an unlimited number of imaginary insects, I'm sure everyone should be able to come up with something.

Due Date
All entries must be submitted prior to the due date of oct/09/2006.
