A sample of the Battlecruiser series by David Schleifer, this graphic novel employs a slew of characters in an action packed adventure from cover to cover. Come along for the ride as Commander Janice Anders Daria of the Battlecruiser Pegasus and Task Force 1-A, led by Lieutenant Fujikawa, get caught deep within the Lucifer system. When a simple rescue mission goes horribly wrong, the team finds themselves fighting for their lives against an entire fleet of Drazakian ships and horrible alien creatures, the likes of have never been seen before!

David Schleifer has given his characters distinct and true-to-life personalities that seem to leap from the pages. This graphic novel is filled with artwork that consists of models by notables such as Stonemason (Stefan Morrell), Moebius87 (Francesco Navarro), and Sanctum Art (Michael Rak). And like all good graphic novels in the sci-fi genre, you don't have to read it to follow along with the story that quickly unfolds into explosive action. From a long-time comic lovers perspective, this novel keeps in with the classic comic style while conveying the story in a family friendly way. That's right, I said family friendly.

The last couple of pages are filled with character bios, sketches and even some ship information, which I would have liked to have had in the opening pages.

This graphic novel is definitely worth picking up on many levels. Once you finish this, it will leave you wanting to pick up the entire series.

About the Author

David Schleifer was born in Queens, New York in 1962.  He was educated and raised in Miami, Florida.  A Martial Artist in Karate, Kendo, and Aikido, military researcher, naval tactician, and Japanese history expert; David Schleifer is a prolific writer who produced all seven of the Battlecruiser Series.

His career actually began in 1987 with the original concept of Battlecruiser: Prototype entitled "Flight of the Pegasus."  David joined the Florida Romance Writers in 1987 and in 1991, received his Diploma from the Writer's Digest School.  David believes that writing is as much an art form as sketching or martial arts.  This can be seen in his books, a mixture of pure imagination and previous background information.  He is currently working on the final version of the Battlecruiser Novels.
