My vote goes to Februus, Jasminre had some excellent photoshop/2d work. But some of those 3dpics could use some fine-tuning. Personaly I am very drawn to traditional art, probably even more to it than cg. Therefore I was very glad to see Februus' pictures. what I like a lot about the work is the expression on each of those pictures; and althugh some of the pictures done with poser can also have a lot of expression but it will take a while for the computer to do what hands can.
I think all of these artists are extraordinary. Audra has an energy and talent beyond compare. Syyd is a true artist in every sense of the work with artwork and prose deep with meaning and emotion. Februus is the one I'd like to see this month. Syyd was recently featured and I think next month should be Audre's, but I would like to see more about Februus and hear what he has to say about his art and life. His sketches are fantastic and his 3D work is among the best. Good luck Matt. I hope to see you in the artist of the month slot. -Ray-
First I would like to say,"Art done by everyone, should be commeneded on such good work. From the new too the old artists. Marvin R summs it up nicely. Though it is hard to pick I have decided That I will vote and keep to myself. But again all that are being voted on are all good and I wish the best for All.
I would have to pledge my vote for Audre. I admire her work as presented to us here, and appreciate how she applies her given talents in her technical arena as well. It is difficult to choose in which of these areas she excels the most... I am believing that quite possibly she is the master of both. Superlative talent is she.
LadyLight's art speaks for itself. It conjures visions of fantasy worlds most of us can only dream of, the mystique of Native American tradition, and such gentle beauty in the creations she brings forth, that I still, even after 5 years of watching her magic, find myself in awe whenever she presents a work of art. Her love of art, and her mindseyes have inspired many here to reach furthur in their own aspirations. To me, she is a consumate artist, never satisfied with a work, always thinking of how it could be better, always offering help to those new to the world of art, and moving many of us to strive for greater beauty in our own works. LadyLight's gallery is a walk into enchantment. I believe she is the perfect choice for AOTM. =)
I have to say Gevidal. The artists style is refreshing and dynamic. The style of much like to old water colors and arcylics of the 70's. While the others work are quite excellent, it's all the same material that I have seen over and over again. Lets break the mold and be daring.
After walking through each of the galleries, this was a very tough call. Such beautiful work from all around. I do love Syyds work, but she was just recently honored. In the end, I chose Ladylight. Why? Because that was the portfolio that evoked the strongest feelings. The bridal shot and the two recent wilderness shots (not to mention the jungle one)....just talk to me. What else can I say?
At the risk of sounding vaguely trollish, here's my opinion. Something I've seen that's a little bit disturbing is that there seems to be a certain preferance for specific art styles - I would like to see a little more diversity - and that this seems to be a popularity contest. People are voting because someone does something one wants themselves to be able to do, or because someone does something that looks exactly like some other artist. Even in my own gallery, people still only comment if they happen to do stuff that's in the same style. I, for one, would like to see people do more than just fantasy or Gothic type stuff. There is life after fantasy and Goth! I myself am far from where I want to be with this tool. In the meantime, my vote goes to Syyd because what little of her work I've actually seen, she actually attempts to take the work BEYOND the media and communicate something. --- Dreia, who's tired of seeing art judged based upon what famous artist, or what Renderosity artist, the art most resembles.
I have to choose LadyLight purely because of feelings she manages to convey within her art, her characters may not be as good as some of the other artists but her lighting and textures are outstanding. The purpose of any artist is to produce both visual and emotional representations and this is what LadyLight has accomplished.
My vote goes to LadyLight also. All the above are talented artists, but I love the emotion Ladylight puts into her work. I love images that show something whether it be a feeling, story, etc LL's does that. I agree with Vethril, she is always striving for perfection, and I for one believe she hits it right on the head time and again! I have known Ladylight only for about 3 years, but in that time I have seen her rl paintings, her screens on an online game, and her work here. All are truly amazing. Realistic? You betcha! LadyLight, my vote is for you hon! hugs. To me you are an all around artist, we an eye on perspective, and truly have a gift from God!
Februus has some breath taking and exciting work. The second I saw his gallery I knew who I was voting for next month. All the artist did a great job, and I can't take anything away from any of them, but Februus work took me to another world at first glimpse. Few artist can capture that reaction from just a glance. Good Luck to all the artist.
Well, I agree with glennf on the 'breaking a mold' point! - the poll seems very Poser led, and though some of the artists nominated are excellent within that sphere, Gevidal has shown an incredible, eclectic vision to the creation of his art. It is both highly original and refreshingly 'dirty' for Bryce created work. I wish to know more about his techniques and creative process.! :)
My vote goes to Gevidal, I see such a diversity in the work and a grit that catches my attention. Every one has doen such a great job and sometimes contest is a funy word for art- but in term of attention to detail and a unique flavor, Gevidal gets my vote!
