Artist Of The Month [AOM] ... October's
AOM will be an artist from the Terragen Gallery. If you
don't know the work of our nominees, please take a minute to look
over their galleries. Consider the entire body of work by each
nominee. Click on the names below to go to their gallery. Voting
will run for one week, with the results posted next week.
Artist of the Month is highlighting a talented Renderosity artist that has been nominated by coords, mods, and admins and voted by the community. Recognition is given to this member for their collection of works for that year. Since we only select one AOM per month, it is not about their works for that particular month. Instead, it is about highlighting a talented artist's works for that year and they are recognized during that month. To learn more about Renderosity's Artist Of The Month [AOM] award, and to view our past AOM's, please visit the AOM 2005 page, which can also be found on the sidebar under Highlights.
Close call! I'm really loving a lot of what stbc is doing these days - amazing terrains and surface mapping. But I think MoppelundWilli just barely edges him out with equally impressive terrains and surface maps (though a different style), and really superb use of overlays. I'd like to see a bit more variety there, but the quality is already well represented. For me the rest, although all excellent TG artists, were not really in consideration. Not much to do with the quality of their work so much as my perspectives on their artistic growth, as a long-time Rendo TG gallery watcher. But all should feel proud to be nominated! :) - Oshyan
Quite different styles here!!!! To be honest I don't know how I could not had heard about Jordano and eponce before, xlt work!!! Others nominees I had used like inspiration! Congratulations to all! Would like to know how they are choosed as I did miss some names there!
I agree with JavaJones about excellent Terragen skill of LutzB. Actually, watching quite long time TG gallery, his name was recognizable for Me at first. Another one was stbc. Sure, Christianfly has its point, but I'm wondering about low points for LutzB. Seems like peoples, who have no experience with TG, better choose for a bit "artisitic" images with dramatic sky photos :) Yes, I don't like the idea with sky photos in TG (and vice versa) at all... Imho, they should be placed in Mixed Medium gallery
JavaJones - yes, but its only to made equal backdrop for LutzB stunning terrains+mats+lightings. In current moment TG just can't provide it (we'll looking forward for TGD). I had in mind those cases, when sky photo is overhelming actuall terragen render... Anyway, all works in provided galleries are great, I had a pleasure to view them and got some inspiration :) So, looks like our favorites (stbc and LutzB) will have other appreciation than voting!
