How do you determine who our selections will be?There are a lot of deserving artists out there who fall under the radar a little but who are nevertheless some of rositys best artists. So,what determines who is selected for us to choose from...I'm not discouraged by any of these choices as I'm familiar with and agree all are great choices, but would like to know how the decision on who ranks is made:)
You are correct Armorbeast. There are a lot of very deserving artists. It was very difficult to narrow the nominee selection list to just 10. What criteria do the Mods/Admins/Coords use to select their nominations? They are asked to take into consideration the following criteria: -An AOM nominee should have in their gallery a body of work that is created using the software/genre for the month in question. -There should be more than just a sprinkling of that type of image, demonstrating a good foundation in and mastery of the software/genre. -Several elements should be balanced and considered when selecting a nominee -- things like technical expertise, mood, message, design and content should be taken into consideration. -The nominee's gallery should have fairly recent postings to it. (There are quite a few members who are no longer active and therefore no longer available for the follow up interview.) -An artist can only be AOM for one time during the year. Those artists who have won this title during the current year will not be included in the voting for a new AOM. -Moderators, Coordinators and Admins are not eligible for Artist of the Month!
First of all, I would like to thank everyone who voted for and nominated me, I am honored. However, I am in the process of withdrawing my name from voting for personal reasons. I would like to extend my deepest and sincerest apologies to all those who voted for me and could have voted for someone else. Thanks again for your support, I truly appreciate it. John
So.. you'd think that I'd catch onto this after a few days.. but it actually took a note from schmoopy to smack some sense into me. I thought to myself.. "Wow.. i'm getting a lot of rosity emails in my inbox.. and a few more notes than normal" but thats where it ended... Lol.. leave it to schmoopy to let me know i was nominated! Thank all of you wonderful people here at renderosity.. you are truely my inspiration. There are so many wonderful artists here.. I've spent years trying to hone my skills and I can't believe I've been nominated for AOM. This is absolutely crazy.. i'm so humbled :) TyTyTy :) Lydian (aka Amanda)

My Poser art had began 15 months ago from scratach and to of achived this has made such an pleasing impact on me . Thanks to everyone who has voted for me or may before the end . As my homepage say's hugs renderosity Byeeee calum :-)
This has to be one of the toughest decisions I've had to make in a long time because several of those who have been nominated are not only fantastic artists, but great friends as well. If I had my way, they would All win AOM....What an amazing list!!!!!
Tough choice! I decided to base my vote on two points: sticking close to Poser - I consider rendering an untextured model with the default lights and then painting in all the rest Mixed Medium or 2D art, not Poser art, and images "out of the ordinary." Valentina.
