Renderosity: Congratulations, lilflame, for becoming the Vendor of the Month! I notice that you've been a member of Renderosity for over 10 years. How has the site made a difference in your work and in your business?
lilflame: That's right, I have been a member at Renderosity for quite some time now. It inspired me to start working with Poser, and to learn modeling, creating content for Poser figures and props. When I became a vendor and released my first product it did really well, so it encouraged me to create more. At first I started with creating props but my desire for creating clothing pushed me forward.
I started with Victoria 3 then Victoria 4, Genesis 2 and now Genesis 3. I still enjoy very much creating props as well, it is good to have a choice, to create outfits, props or shaders/materials.
Your sense of design, especially in female fashion and glamor, is marvelous! How have you come to develop such a great design sense?
lilflame: Being a woman I like wearing fashionable clothing myself, and this helps with many ideas. Playing quite a lot of online games as well, inspires me with some of my creations. Tho I never create items that I've see online, like they are. I always vision it in a different way. We can say I always add a pinch of lilflame in those designs. :)
Tell us a little about yourself; how long have you been creating 3D assets/media? Are you formally trained or self taught?
lilflame: Through the years, of being at Renderosity and other CG sites, I decided to be a full time vendor as 3D was something I enjoy and having fun creating content daily as a full time job is also a plus. To see everyday, others make art with products I create it also inspires me to do more and better.
As mentioned above I have been member here for over 10 years and thats how long I am creating, and still learning every day something new. I have taught myself modeling, using Poser and Daz studio along the way, with tutorials and sometimes just as trial and error.
Could you choose a favorite item from your store and share the process of creating it?
lilflame: I will pick my latest product Outline for Genesis 3 Female because is new. I do not have a favorite product as I put a lot of work in all my products and I like each and every product I create, in a way they are all my favorite. Tho this product is for Daz studio, I still like to support Poser, with not much choice I started creating clothing for Genesis 3 Female, and she does not work in Poser.
Of course I have to model the clothing first, this one was done in Hexagon 2, tho I still use 3ds max for other models, I work with both. I have not been well with my health this year so I needed some help, and my husband jumped in and now helps me as well with some of the products including the Outline, my newest product.
After the modeling and UV, wich I do also in Hexagon2 and Zbrush, plus UV mapper. The clothing is ready for DAZ studio and all the waight mapping, morphing and JCM.
Finaly I can then move to texturing when everything is done, mostly I use Photoshop for texturing.
My favorite part of course is then promos, when I can finally use the item I created, as I do not have time for art anymore, it is the time I can create a bit of art in the promotion images. :)

What kind of software do you use to create your products? And can you let us know what your computer set up is?
lilflame: I still use my old 3ds Max, alot of Hexagon 2 and mostly Zbrush. I still support Poser for the items that work there, and alot of DAZ studio. I enjoy rendering with Iray so I had to upgrade some of my computer this year.
- GPU: ASUS strix NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti, 6 GB
- Processor: Intel Core i7-4770 ,
- 16 GB RAM
- 2x 250 GB SSD in RAID 1, for backup.
- Keyboard and mouse: Razer Deathstalker and Naga
If someone wanted to get into creating/selling digital products at Renderosity, what advice would you give them?
To never give up just because it seems difficult or new. Always learning new things will make you better and improve your quality. Changing, learning, improving, will make your products stand out.
What inspires you to create/develop your products?
I think a lot of gaming inspires me to develop more. My mind never rests, its always filled with ideas and diversity, which brings me to the point of modeling this ideas and developing a product.
And, lastly, who are some of the vendors/artists you admire at Renderosity?
There is many talented vendors and artists here at Renderosity. Being character creators, clothing, texture or scenes/props creators. Each have their own unique products and art. It is great they are all here, so we can get some of the amazing content they create!
I would like to mention Sveva because, I have been working with her for few years now and I admire her passion for work and art she creates. There are things we figure out together at times, which is great, learning new things and working with something both of us enjoy.
And thanks to Renderosity team :)
