Working with DazStudio, this artist makes beautiful renders with outstanding hair on each figure. Although her store has only a few 3D figure assets (for now), the public loves the work and we are very proud to award her the Vendor of the Month!
We congratulate Angel_Wings on being chosen as the Vendor of the Month for August. We had a chance to interview this talented artists about becoming a vendor and their ideas about creating art.
Interview with VOM Angel_Wings
Renderosity: You are a new vendor at Renderosity. Why did you choose Renderosity to set up shop?
Angel_Wings: I chose Renderosity Because the Staff seem very friendly and nice and helpful. I wanted to get my foot in the door and become somebody I figured this would be a great place to start.
Although your store is small now, you have some wonderfully crafted works. Can you tell us a bit about your workflow and what software you use?
Angel_Wings: I Use Zbrush primarily but I also use Blacksmith3D, as well as PhotoshopCS6 with a WACOM Intuos Pro Tablet for drawing and painting. As far as my workflow? Let's just say I've never had any formal training and thats probably one department that can use a little practice. I' will say, one key to my sculptures is patience and backing away from your creation for a day or two then loading the actor up and examining it as if you just bought the product yourself, even going so far as role playing the installation process, and asking yourself with pure honesty, would you be happy with this? If I have a moment of self justification that creeps into the back of every artists mind, I know I'm not done. Find the issue, and fix it...
Tell us about yourself; where do you come from? How did you get started creating digital art?
Angel_Wings: I come from Utah. My home town is Salt Lake City. Ironically the home of Daz3D! I've always enjoyed digital art. How I got started. I had a friend a few years ago who showed me a few of his art works. I loved what I saw. He told me how to download Daz Studio. I did my first render. It was horrible!!! But it was so challenging and fun at the same time. I was hooked! When I first learned that you can create your own characters. It went from a hobby, to a pursuit of perfection, and now hopefully a career. xD
Do you have favorite artists that inspire you?
Angel_Wings: I have several who inspire me. My favorite 3D artist is ShibaShake and when it comes to Painting, Bob Ross!
What are you working on now?
Angel_Wings: Oooh Jeez! Several things I'm working on. I have 2 more actors I'm brewing up and getting ready, as well as another secret project. I'm also considering a collaboration with another artist for an actor. We'll see! But I'm far from done. This is just my hello :P
Any last thoughts for the interview?
Angel_Wings: I would like to thank the fine folks at Renderosity for this opportunity, as well as my friends and followers for being so supportive. For an artist, nothing can be more appreciated, then feeling appreciated.
