The Vendor of the Month for July 2015 is Out of Touch.
Out of Touch has over 1,000 items for sale at his marketplace store and the quality of his work is top notch. From stylish handbags to elaborate dresses; every piece in his store is imaginative and very well constructed. Plus, he's got a great sense of how to make things sexy without being coarse. And to think that Out of Touch is only in his 20's! How many more great pieces is he going to create in the future? We congratulate outoftouch for his VOM selection and will feature his artworks and store all month, including a special sale which we will announce soon.
I had a chance to speak with Out of Touch about his background and his works. My thanks to him for taking the time out of a busy schedule to answer questions.
Renderosity: Tell us a bit about yourself. Who is Out of Touch?
OutofTouch: Outoftouch is a mid-twenty year old boy. I'm living together with my girlfriend in Northern Germany. Beneath my biggest hobby, which is this whole thing here (I live it!), I love listening to music, I love making music with friends, rather electronic than acoustic. In fact, beneath Poser, music is my biggest hobby then. I'm grateful I can totally accomplish my inspiration and feelings in my work. I'm happy I got the chance to make my hobby to my job and working with so many great people here!
Renderosity: How did you originally get started in this career choice? What made you decide to become a vendor?
OutofTouch: It simply was one thing: curiosity! I'm always open to try out new stuff, I have always loved seeing 3D artwork and still feel very inspired by everything, every single day. Nowadays we can say: well where is something that doesn't have anything digital to it? The techniques are developing and I would say it is different today than 15 years back because it isn't so "exotic" or nerdy anymore. It was different back then when we found ourselves sitting in a cinema watching a 3D movie and thought: WOW! What is this!
Well what actually made me really get started in this career choice and sticking to 3D figure animation / rendering is that this has so many facettes to be creative, so many chances to grow. And while with other stuff in live I often feel bored very fast, this never bored me at all!
Renderosity: [:: XOXO ::] is one of my favorite of your pieces? How did it come about? What was your work like on this piece?
OutofTouch: The XOXO project was initiated by my partner Mint. At that point I was a newbie in modelling and she asked me if I'd like to do a matching hair. The outfit was inspired by some famous characters from TV series.
Renderosity: Who are the artists that inspire you?
OutofTouch: There isn't actually any specific artist that inspires me. I rather get inspired by many different things, which can be a shopping trip through a city looking at fashion store posters and window decoration.
Renderosity: What is currently in your digital toolset, and what could you not do without?
OutofTouch: My current digital toolset includes DAZ Studio, Poser, Photoshop, Cinema 4D and ZBrush. Actually thinking about it now, I have often tried out other software, but I always come back to these. Except DAZ Studio, the other software is in my toolset for years. However over the past 2 years I have learned to simply love DAZ Studio. I think among these 5 softwares I could not do without it anymore.
Renderosity: What might we find you doing when not at work?
OutofTouch: In most cases you will find me making music and listening to music. I do love making city trips with my girlfriend, just walking around and see something different.
Renderosity: What would you offer as best advice for those looking to get started in content creation?
OutofTouch: I have said it in every interview and I will stick to it. Love what you do and create quality! Try to find out if there is something to improve and I can officially say: there is always something to do better! Keeping up quality and improving, learning new techniques and from time to time trying out something completely different is the only thing to bring you further.
Renderosity: And, finally, how has being a member of Renderosity impacted your life and career?
OutofTouch: This is my life, I rarely spend any minute without thinking about this. My career began here, I'm still here and I will be here! Thank you to the whole team for your support and to all customers!
