Renderosity: Tell us a bit about yourself. Who is nirvy?
Nirvy: Before answering your questions I want to thank everyone that has supported me throughout these 13 years here at Renderosity. My customers above all cause you’re the reason I keep on going continuously striving to improve year after year.Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!:)
Who is nirvy? I wish I knew LOL!
I can tell you she is very weird and cranky and bitchy but also very soft, shy and doesn’t talk much. She loves 3D Art and music. She loves her friends…they are forever…and never forgets a good one no matter what happens nor how much time goes by. She’s caring, she hurts easily, she’s very stubborn, she’s a perfectionist, she forgives and forgets, she believes in fairy tales and happy endings, she loves her children and she loves cats.
I’m very international. I lived in the US, Italy, France, Greece, Japan and have traveled so much that I actually got tired of it but everyone should see the world because it really changes one’s perspective of things.
This is one of the greatest things about Renderosity: the wide variety of nationalities and everyone united by the love of art. It’s awesome!
I speak 5 languages. I love food and great cappuccinos which I think is my greatest weakness lol! I live with my husband in Greece on the outskirts of a small village by the sea. It’s beautiful!
I think this is enough to get a
pretty good idea of who I am. :)

How did you originally get
started in this career choice? What made you decide to become a
vendor?
Nirvy: Discovering Poser and my love for colors and fashion. Poser opened a whole new world for me: the world of 3D.
My first product was released the 4th of October 2003 here at Renderosity. It was an add-on for DAZ’s Morphing Cocktail Dress, Hi-Heels and Fantasy Collar.
I was creating a lot of digital art for the galleries those days and while I was playing around with the uvs of the dress, trying to make something I wanted, I came up with a style I really liked “Black is Magic†and thought that maybe others would too and that’s how it all began.
What do you feel you gained
most personally from your experience as a content creator over the
years?
Nirvy: I’ve made some very good friends. In Greece our kind of work is not known by many, even my husband still doesn’t understand what I do, funny as that may sound and so it is wonderful to be able to talk about creating with other vendors, share experiences, projects, ideas…
I’ve also gained knowledge. When I started I only knew how to use PSP. That was 13 years ago since then I have learned so many programs I’ve lost count but I am still learning everyday.
“if you have the main ingredient “Love for what you do†then one day you’ll reach your goal and that’s a promise!â€
Could you list some current favorites among the products you’ve created and tell us a little bit about them?
Nirvy: I started as a texturer and still am mainly that. A lot of people think texturing is easy but it’s not. An exceptional texture takes a lot of time and hard work to make. It’s all in the details.I mainly enjoy texturing 3D-Age’s clothes. He is an exceptional modeler with whom I have been working many years. His clothes come to life while I work on them.
The add-on Sinner that I made for 3D-Age’s BodysuitI has to be the most difficult pack I’ve ever created. The bodysuit’s uvs were divided manually in CS5 to create all the various parts turning a single bodysuit into pants, tops, socks, shorts and other variations.
I do have a few favorites though also for clothing made by other vendors.I would say that my all time favorite is Beyond the wall for RP’s Night Watcher. It took me 3 weeks to make that product. I have read all of the Game of Thrones books and seen the series and just love Game of Thrones. The challenge in this pack was to make the textures resemble the original character’s clothing as much as possible and to be honest I was very pleased with the result.:)

“Steampunk Anachronism†is also an all time favorite of mine. I made that with Kaleya and the product turned out amazing! “Song Whisperer†for Kaleya’s Spellsinger is another favorite. I love fantasy and this outfit was stunning.
Truthfully though I have many favorites such as “WI-CY†for supernova and Rena’s CyberSpy, “Highland Assassin†for AssaSin2 by Pretty3D and my “The Proud†series which I truly love.
Among my clothing packs I really like my last one for Genesis2F and Genesis3F: “DateLine3â€. DateLine3 started out being made for G2F and then G3F was released so I went ahead and made it for both having to add IRAY textures as well which meant learning something totally new again. :) I also really like my “Day to Night†Skirt and then there’s my “The Rose†morphing prop which I made because I needed a rose for some promotional images. It took me over a month to make this.
Where do you get your inspiration for your products?
Nirvy: My
clothing is mostly from my head. I very seldom make something I
have seen or found on the net. I like creating my own look. My
add-on styles: I look around the net to see what’s in fashion
and then add my personal touches.
What is currently in your
digital toolset, and what could you not do
without?
Nirvy: Poser,
DAZ Studio, CS5, Hexagon, ZBrush, UV Layout and lots more.I
don’t think I could do without any of them. Each one has its
specific purpose.
What would you offer as best
advice for those looking to get started in content
creation?
Nirvy: Patience!
Will! Endurance! Nerves of steel! LOL! Start young! Never give up!
It takes time, a lot of really hard work, hours and hours at the
pc, giving up a large part of day to day life but if you have the
main ingredient “Love for what you do†then one day
you’ll reach your goal and that’s a promise!
What might we find you doing
when not at work?
Nirvy: In the summer I would be in my garden reading a book after I’ve finished my daily chores around the house. In the winter, except for my chores, I just work around the clock from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm then I’ll go watch my favorite TV shows and relax.
