Since Poser has files spread out in many subfolders we require that the zip file paths start from "Runtime". This will provide the end user with easy installation. One way to do this is to create a poser library "Runtime" folder structure on your root drive and place your product files in them for archiving. Zip from Runtime with the folders intact. This will enable users to extract the product into any installation of Poser. We will not accept products that do not adhere to the above standard. For additional information on Paths please see our Creating File Paths for Poser Products Tutorial. Texture Sets Texture items must be all your original work. Do not use anyone else's texture as a base pieces, parts, or items found free on the internet (because there is no way to verify ownership). You must include detailed instructions on how to apply them. Visible seams where seams are not intentional or areas where the template underneath shows through will not be accepted. Skin or painted patterns on the skin should not have visible seams. Textures that render with seams due to the underlying model or depiction of cloth stitching will be taken into consideration by the tester. .PZ3 files are not required to have file folder paths in the archive, but any textures associated with that .PZ3 file must have file paths. BUM Files If you create a file that points to a ".bum", yet your bump maps only come in JPEG format, the file won't load in Poser. Please provide instructions for bump map conversion/application in the Readme. MAT Poses Texture references within MAT Poses should follow this format: Pro Pack/P5 Example:
material YourMaterial
{
textureMap ":Runtime:textures:YourFolder:YourGraphic.jpg"
0 0
bumpMap ":Runtime:textures:YourFolder:YourGraphic.jpg"
0 0
reflectionMap ":Runtime:textures:YourFolder:YourGraphic.jpg"
0 0
transparencyMap ":Runtime:textures:YourFolder:YourGraphic.jpg"
0 0
}
Poser 4.03 Example
material YourMaterial
{
textureMap ":Runtime:textures:YourFolder:YourGraphic.jpg"
0 0
bumpMap ":Runtime:textures:YourFolder:YourGraphic.bum"
0 0
reflectionMap ":Runtime:textures:YourFolder:YourGraphic.jpg"
0 0
transparencyMap ":Runtime:textures:YourFolder:YourGraphic.jpg"
0 0
}
In this way the files will load correctly on many different Poser
installation configurations. You may also want to consider this
texture path format for all poser product files that load textures.
Another thing to keep in mind is OS compatibility. The entire path
(excluding the quotes) must not exceed 62 characters in length for
it to function on the MAC. Poser Pro Pack (and
Poser 5) Pro Pack enhanced Poser 4 no longer converts
bump maps to .bum format. It can use the original image format for
bump mapping as well as the poser .bum format (jpeg, .gif, .png,
.tif, .psd, .bum). If the .cr2/.pp2 or MATpose is directed to a
.bum file, and that format is not included, it will create errors
for Pro Pack users. You have several options to make your product
Pro Pack Ready: a. Include the .bum format in your product which is
applied through the .cr2/.pp2/MATpose. b. Remove the .bum format
association from your .cr2/.pp2/MATpose, and include ReadMe
instructions on how to load the bump map manually. c. Include a Pro
Pack version of the .cr2/.pp2/MATpose that points to the bump map
format which is included. Products are not required to be Pro Pack
Ready, but those that are may have **Pro Pack Ready** in the
product description.
