Q: How did you get started in 3D Graphics? Through Renderosity. I had been hand Illustrating and doing portrait/figure work for 10 years before I decided to move to a 3D Digital Platform. A friend introduced me to Poser to save on live models, and soon after I stumbled onto Renderosity. Q: How long have you been working with 3D Graphics? Since December 2000. Before that I had been working as a Web Developer/Designer. Q: Do you have any formal training? My training extends to Graduate Studies in 1992, 3 years experience working as an illustrator, and afterwards wound up in marketing. Q: What software do you use to develop your products? Photoshop (new-version), Corel Draw 10. Visual Intervelpoment tools, a long list of all of the notables found here at Renderosity, and of course Poser....:) Q: How much time is required for product development? A TON! lol, it really depends but I can spend a full 2 months on a Base Texture Map. I may average half that time just working on figure work alone, but where I can really be stumped if not careful and focused is product concept and creation. Q: Do you have any advice on how to get started selling 3D Products? Based just on my experience I'd say start in the free section here at Renderosity. Get familiar with the different areas of art and applications. Find your groove, throw away your ego, and watch and learn. Theres too much talent here to be ignored. Q: Where does your inspiration come from when developing new products? My wife. Shes says if I dont make money at this it'll be the end of me. Just kidding. Really, her encouragement and confidence in me is my backbone. Coming up with ideas is rather easy. I look around me at what I think is beautiful and interesting. Q: How has Renderosity's on-line community played a role in regards to your products, friendships and learning? As a merchant here at Renderosity, I make it my job to surf and watch for trends etc. I have met many talented people here and seen some work that is just down right awe-inspiring. I can spend the rest of my life wondering the halls of Renderosity and never absorb it all. Q: Do you have any final words? Yes actually. I wish to thank the community for its interest in my work and all of the people who have inspired me in one way or another. Secondly, I'd like to say thank you to Clint, the Admin team and testers here for all of their support, time and consideration that they have put into providing this awesome forum. And to all of the other merchants out there, Im proud to be in your company.
