So, tell us little bit about yourself, who is ernyoka1?
ernyoka1 is TrekkieGrrrl and TrekkieGrrrl is ernyoka1. Together
we're me. My family and colleagues calls me Lisbeth. Most of my
online friends call me Trekkie or TG. :o) I'm a 39 year old female
from Denmark, Scandinavia. Married for almost 19 years with 2 kids
& 3 cats. How did you get started in Poser? Actually I
started with Bryce, way back. 1999 or early 2000, I'm not sure
anymore. Then I saw some pictures with people in and heard about
"Poser". At first I wasn't impressed, there wasn't much I could do
with the things available. I wanted to do Star Trek pictures! Then
after about a year where Poser collected dust, I was one day bored.
I reinstalled it and went searching for free stuff - that's when I
found Renderosity and boy did I go on a downloading spree! ALL THIS
STUFF! For FREE! I was amazed. And that's when I started playing
with Poser for real! Did you begin with modelling and find
Poser, or did you begin with Poser & move to modelling? Some
time after I started playing with Poser again, I started to model
very basic stuff. Lathes such as the inevitable wine glass. But
Poser came first. You make some really interesting and unusual
models, but I think youre best known for your terrific trash
models. What inspires you to create these kind of models?
Actually, my first freestuff items were some textures for PhilC's
classic wrap - a leather texture and 2 fur ones because the shape
of it reminded me of some stone age like clothes. When I got my
first IM from someone saying THANKS for making it I was totally
blown away. I saved that IM until Renderosity started to delete old
IM's :o( My trash started because I was exploring morphs. I
experimented with a cylinder I could morph into a crumbling one.
Now that I had this morphing cylinder, I started contemplating what
it could be used for, so I put a beer can texture on it and
uploaded it. People downloaded it like crazy. Then I realized I was
onto something. My morphing Kleenex started because I needed a
crumbled piece of tissue for a picture and a lot of these things
are originally made because I need them or because someone else was
looking for them. You make a lot of very practical models, would
you describe yourself as a practical person? Heh on the
contrary. I'm a totally "computer potato" (updated version of a
couch potato I guess, as I don't watch much tv) but practical stuff
is why you have a husband. With one exception; electrical stuff is
my domain. Lamps, cords. I like that. Where do you get your
ideas from? Here and there. A lot of my stuff is made by
request, or I've asked people for ideas. When I was making Trash
Street 2 I asked a lot of people for ideas for more trash to make.
What was the first model you ever made and did it work out the
way you planned? Well, the morphing can isn't REALLY a model as
it's only a cylinder. So my first real prop must be the my open
book. Which has a very strange mapping because I had not yet
figured out how to map things properly. Which is your favourite
free model that you've made yourself? Hmm that's a tough one. I
think my Treasure Chest is actually very very nice. it turned out
just like I wanted it. Which one did you most enjoy working
on? Also the chest I think. But I really enjoyed working on
some other things like my bar stool because it was done as speed
modeling, I did that in 11 minutes from start to render, because
someone asked for it and I wanted to be the first *L* What do
you like best about giving these models away for free? The warm
fuzzy feeling when people say it's cool? hmm I don't know. Deep
down I'm a soft-hearted socialist that likes to share stuff.
Whats the worst thing? The worst thing? I think that's when
some people can't figure out how to use or download something and
send of IMs like "UR Stuff don work!" What do you hope to
achieve by giving these models to the Poser community? To get
some new friends. I guess somewhere I have a need for recognition.
For a pat on the back. When people like what I'm making, I get just
that :o) I'm a very insecure peep IRL really. Do you have any
favourite images created with your freestuff? Some of my own? I
like my "Out to Lunch" which is more or less a showcasing of a lot
of the trash things. I also LOVE to see my stuff used in other
people's renders. I do go "ego-browsing" in the galleries from time
to time. Do you have any favourite freestuff providers or a
favourite freestuff item made by someone else? Snowsultan's
seamguides. Hogwarden's CR (which made me rush out and buy Pro).
Same with Yarp and his P3DO. SAMS3D's stuff of course. But there
are a lot of people who make great free stuff. Ajax makes cool
shaders and easyposeable things AND is very very helpful too. And
ziggie of course because he makes awesome models AND is a great
friend. Do you have any advice for people who are just starting
out sharing their models? Model what you like and it'll show.
If you're good at something special, make THAT. If you're a mason,
you'll know how a wall and a house ought to look. And above all:
SHARE IT! Don't be afraid. don't think that people won't like it
because you're a newbie. We've all been newbies at a point. On a
bad Poser day, when arms fly off newly imported models or bits
decide to explode when you add a new morph & everything goes wrong
what keeps you going? It depends.. I've scrapped a lot of stuff
that just won't work. I've cried for help in the Poser forum lots
of times and had enormous help from people who knew more than me
about that thing. My first poseable character would still have been
something scrapped if it hadn't been for Optical Singenoid who
saved Fluff from an early death *L* What do your offline friends
and family think of your Poser habit? My mom thinks it's
amazing that I can actually make money on this. most of the time I
think my family hates it because they never see anything but my
back, when I'm at my computer. How long have you been a member
and what do you like about our Poser community here? I joined
in April 2002. I like that there's so many people here. The forum
is always alive, no matter what time of the day you check in, there
are people here with new threads popping up all the time. I'm a
forum junkie so I like forums where there is something new to see
all the time and most of the time it's a very friendly place to be
too. Not only do you share a lot of terrific free models, but
you are also a well known regular poster in the Poser forum here,
what are your hopes for the forum in the future? I hope that
the forum can stay friendly. I hope that some other sites will find
less reason for their constant mockery. Which version of Poser
do you use and why do you like it best? Poser 5. It's just so
much better than the previous versions. I liked PPP, but I LOVE
Poser 5. There's no way I could ever go back. Thanks so much for
giving us all a chance to get to know you a little better Lisbeth,
it's been a pleasure :-) Thanks for asking me, I'm honoured
that you'd want to hear about me :-)
