This is the Mommy Moose that runs our neighborhood. She has two calves that are usually pretty close to her all the time. She was grazing in my backyard, and when I went out to take pictures of her, she noticed I was there. She tollerated it for about two minutes (basically long enough for me to get one shot of her, after composing it), then she took off. There was a calf just behind her and to the left... but you can't see him in the image... I didn't see him either until he took off just in front of her when she bolted. We get to see at least one moose everyday here. It's the time of year for them to be seen more and more. And also the time of year for a lot more vehicle accidents due to moose. Two days ago I saw 6 individual moose within two miles and 10 minutes of leaving home. :o) I really like this time of year, because of all the chances for photos. It's really great.
