Description

It is not often a Great Blue Heron will fly so close to the ground that I can get a picture of the top of the wings. This Great Blue Heron was wading in shallow water at Kountze Lake at Belmar Park in Lakewood, Colorado. After I got a few nice close-ups he flew off. He circled around and flew low over the native grasses surrounding the lake.
