Hi good people. A lot of people pass through these hallowed halls without the appreciation of what goes on behind the scenes (renders). This, of course, is one of the many facets that Rederosity is about... Rendering! Building 3D models, figures, clothes and forming them into a piece of art (hopefully). For those that do this type of art, this is no news to them, for those interested, this is dedicated. Above is a typical scene from 'Chira' page_4. Top left corner is from the camera angle, then left to right, then bottom to bottom right, are 4 zoom levels, so you can see the detail in the polygons. This is before surface textures are applied and lighting is adjusted. Trying to position an object, say inside a hand, can be very difficult and tedious. The mish-mash of Mesh is what we see. Selecting one mesh from hundreds can be a challenge. Then move it and hope all the meshes that belong in this group are properly assigned and move with it. For Example, on page-4 of Chira, in my gallery, two little white spots where left above the right fire. They were the spiders belly hour_glass and eyes. They didn't move, when I moved the spider on the right, out of the fire. I didn't notice the fault until after the full render, which can take 4 to 20 hours, depending on detail, lights, reflections and many other factors. These errors can be cleaned up in postwork, using a paint program. This one slipped by me until later, after my rush to post on time. There where many such errors and I caught most of them. Igars Butt fell apart some where along the way, while positioning him. Tried, and failed, to fix his butt with a paint program. Much respect for those that choose to paint clothes, it is not easy to texture and add shadows, after the render is completed. I have finally finished page..4, and fixed everything that annoyed me, with very little postwork. I thought some of you might appreciate a little peek at what goes on, behind the scenes, of a rendering artist. Thanks for the view and have a great day! Dave :^>

Rhino / Cad..101,,cool idea Dave might even do this myself. But the cut and past crowd my think that this is a finished image. May even comment as follows, OMG,love the black and white AWESOME love the background it sets such a mood. AWESOME,SUPERBE,INCREDIBLE,OMG,BRAVO,EXCELLENT+++++++++If I could vote 20 million times I would. A mind blower of an image I want more. Love all those black lines,a first, a MASTERPIECE. DID YOU SCANE THIS FIRST. HE-HE-HA-HA HO-HO. It's so Romantic, Dave I gotta give you excellent here and an A+ for effort + a vote for trying. Way cool man!!!

Yeah there is nothing worse than having this incredible scene and trying like hell to find that one piece that is just a hair off. Very frustrating sometimes. I've had this problem, especially with bryce, try to move an imported figure and you leave her eyeballs behind! You just have to laugh. Excellent idea to show everyone what the renderer has to deal with. Way cool! :)

I too had no idea that such a terrific amount of work and time went into making these images !!! I only know how to make my simple Apo flames, so your explanation of the process you use is very interesting and fascinating. Thanks Dave, for telling us about some of the difficulties you face when putting your images together, this alone is deserving of a big fat VOTE

when Mike use to create it was so fscinatin to watch the entire building process...im not gifted in that way..it looked like greek but it does fascinate me..brought back memories...and i respect n e one who tackles this process...HLNGB2YMYLO...L;)))
