Who is HandspanStudios? HandspanStudios is presently just myself ( Ingrid Gilbert ) but I hope it expands over time to include more artists. What are you currently working on? I am looking to do some projects in collaboration with other artists in the near future. I'm also learning new programs, 3d Studio Max for one, to help expand my line to include more props and costumes. The primary focus will continue to be Poser characters. Why do you like 3D art? 3d art in general brings diverse talents together to create a finished render. The programmer, the model(s) creator, the texture creator and then the artist who sets up the final render. Each part is equally necessary for the finished artwork. While some people would argue that this is 'cheating', I consider it a strength of the art form and I plan to model HandspanStudios as a business in a similar way; that is taking full advantage of the talent in this community to try to make the best possible end products. I am looking forward to partnerships and collaborations with other artists as this will be something new for me too. How has this online community (Renderosity) enhanced your work, relationships, and learning? I found the 3d medium and this community at about the same time and it was love at first sight. I have experimented with a lot of mediums, from paint to beads, but this is the first time I really feel at home. For one thing I've never found the snobbery that I always encountered in the art world here. I feel very lucky to be able to share my artwork with all of you.

Hi Ingrid, I am new to the Renderosity community but I wanted to tell you, in my humble opinion, your work is magnificent. There is a delicacy yet substance and soul to each of your characters. They have been created not just with the mind and the eye but with the heart. Keep up the good work! Best Wishes, Trev

You have to be hands down one of the most respected texture and character makers I know. Your faces are beautiful, and your range of character is outstanding. Thanks for your inspiration and giving us all something to look at, and look up to.
