I vote for brschmidt because I have always liked his work from seeing it in the galleries While I believe that 2d artists are just as qualified to have this honor of artist of the month, and I have voted in the past for 2d artists, in this case I cast for him (or her, you know, I don't know what sex he/she is!) He is so accomplished at Poser and scene composition and imagination! The pictures are very compelling and I strive to be so able to bring a digital picture to life like he does. He deserves to have the honor as he sets a great example for people as to what Poser can be manipulated to do along with imagination!

who else offers a tutorial on their website on how to make a skin texture in Poser!! Especially one as realistic as Cake1's.

I cast my vote for Morris both times, because I feel that she's not only one of the most talented people I've met in a long time... she does a lot to exemplify the spirit of this site. I like watching a new artist who was hesitant to post with us grow into the phenomenal and competent artist that she is.

Oh I had to vote Morris ALLLLLLLLL the way! LOL She never ceases to amaze me with her artistic vision and I find each and every one of her Pictures brilliant!!

I think I would very much like to see Cake1 be AOM of July out of the above list, not to underestimate the wealth of talent of the other nominee's but there is something special about Cecille's poser work, I was particularly fond of the self made texture she exhibited and then produced a great tutorila on recently! - good luck! :)

I have to vote for Morris she's an amazing talent and puts out tons of high quality artwork. You go girl, you're the best!

Well, I said this before we had a voting list, but I'll say it again.... There is no one who has produced the volume of work that Morris has, without having the quality suffer in any way. Her work is inspired. And I believe it was Tammy who said this, but Morris can integrate 2D and 3D and it's beautifully cohesive. No one deserves this honour more than she does.

I don't really agree with my predecesors, they have a lot of faith in Poser artists. I understand that it is a challenging task to make beautiful characters, and I even like them. My problem is that these characters are only some puppets or dolls if you do not put them into a good environment. And this is where 3D modelling comes in. A character is only a part of the image. It can be the main part, but imagine Mona Lisa without her surrondings. You wouldn't even notice her smile. So my vote goes to brschmidt, because he has the skill and courage to accentuate the spirit of his characters with impressive environment.

i dont see the point in voting at all. kracker is 2d vs poser, poser people always win artist of the month. why not make 2d artist of the month and poser and so on?!!

3D Freak ( posted at 12:00AM Thu, 28 June 2001

I agree with ideaflo on this one- Poser people almost always seem to win artist of the month & that's not really fair to those of us who don't even use poser- there should be an artist of the month for each gallery!!!

I voted cake1...as I said before it takes alot of guts to "put yourself" into your art and she did it literally with fantastic results. Ummm...ideaflo only 1 Poser person (Skooldaze) has won AOM in the last 3 months. The other was "2D" (audre) and the second was Bryce(Gevidal).

audre ( posted at 12:00AM Fri, 29 June 2001

POSER people always win artist of the month?? January - Hobbit February - Desdemona March - audre April - gevidal May - Archangel_Gabriel ummmm i think not so. i want some of whatever you guys are taking. wink

3D Freak ( posted at 12:00AM Fri, 29 June 2001

Just because people use other programs & post in different galleries doesn't mean that they don't use poser- January- Hobbit(bryce artist-uses poser figures) February- Desdemona(uses poser figures) March- audre(you've used poser figures) April- gevidal(the only one who doesn't use poser) May- Archangel_Gabriel(uses poser figures) June- Skooldaze (uses poser figures) ummmm i think so. It looks to me as if the only one who hasn't used poser in their work is gevidal. Granted, all of the aom's are brilliant artists- I'm just saying that most of them use poser in one way or another.

kromekat ( posted at 12:00AM Fri, 29 June 2001

I happen to agree with opinions above regardless of how many poser artists etc there have been, there should be an AOM for all galleries!

audre ( posted at 12:00AM Sat, 30 June 2001

hmmm i don't consider myself a 'poser' people artist. just USING a particular tool sometimes doesn't make someone THAT kind of person... i do think that Archangel Gabriel and Desdemona might be classified as primarily "poser artists" in what they've posted here, since when you look thru their galleries, you see primarily portaits of people, which have usually been primarily derived in poser. however, i strongly disagree that the everyone else is a 'poser' people. but hey... there is room for all these opinions.

RadArt ( posted at 12:00AM Sat, 30 June 2001

Are we awarding the 'tools" used or the "artist" in question?? What does it matter what tool they use to get the end resulting masterpiece, we are much too focused on the tools of trade rather than the imaginations and creativity and inspirations set forth by each and every artist nominated here. Its what THEY do with whatever resources at their availablity that matters, who cares if one uses more red and the other more pink, that's besides the point. Look at all the poser users here that don't make the grade, or even know how to make their work shine enough to be here as a nomination. Having the software at your disposal does NOT always work in your favor, you still need to have the talent to know what works! We should be looking upon these artists' ART for our reasons of choice not their eating habits, get my drift?
