Description

Last but not least I dedicate this crocuses-carpet to Errol a.k.a. Sharky_ who shared us so many wonderful shots of high mountains and lava in the middle of the Pacific Ocean! After the painful loss of your mother I'm glad you're with us here again but I still keep thinking of you in these circumstances! The heights of the mountains here are nothing compared with your's - on the background you can see the Hohgant (that will be free of snow in July) with 2197 m (7208 ft) - although the Bernese Oberland reaches to heights above 4000 meters (13,000 ft). Precipitation and temperatures are different here (you reach the highest values, somewhere in your state with 10 meter of rain annually) and on the northern side of the Alps it means we cannot reach heights above 3000 meters (10,000 ft) without equipment to cross snowfields. Today I'll have some nice dental surgery :( so I might be a little slow with commenting. Enjoy these last crocuses! Here the abyss is not noticeable. It seems almost like a plain runs out to the mountain. One can study the straw from previous seasons. The color provides a cover for staring long and hard.
