Shortly after the successful creation of artificial intelligence, the sport of boxing gave way to the rebirth of the gladiator. Men and women alike took great pleasure in watching two "disposable people" battle it out in the arena until only one survived. Indeed, the sport's popularity was so great that the best of the "Battle Bots" achieved celebrity status. Fans would eagerly watch their favorite in the hopes that she would progress to the final tournament of the year, where the ultimate prize was freedom.
