Description

I played around with paint tubes this time. They are fun to use. I've never used them before but I will from now on. Your comments are always welcome.

This is an interesting experiment. But the tubes aren't very realistic because they're not lit the same way as the landscape.

I particularly like the foreground and atmosphere of this picture, but feel the animals top left need to be more distant looking - less intense? I've neverheard of Terragen - is this a paint or photographic program?

Tubes are great I use them in all my pics too. The trick to using them is apply them in layers. For vegetation do the dark background layer first, add another layer make it a little lighter and add yet another highlight layer. Use different sizes in each layer. I use "adjust hue saturation and lightness" to change the colour and darkness. I used this technique particularly in Umbuq tomb and Freedom trilogy. For other added images like the deer, reduce the saturation and try to match your bkg you're adding them too. For more realism use the drop shadow effect (check where the sun is coming from and apply the shadow to match). Great start!! Can't wait to see the next piccy!
