You should up the GI iteration level cause of the dark zones. If you are using vray try also to put an area light, and if you have done it, not to use store in global illumination. Otherwise cool render.

Great test!! Hey shadowdragonlord MAX has had gi since version 2.5 through mental ray. It has two types of built-in GI (radiodity and lightracer) since version 5, and lots of renderers capable of GI too.
