Description

Well, 3200 freakin' metaballs and a ton of rendering, and I still aint' sure about this piece. Woody represents my dead tired comp after putting it through several renders of this image. I also included the extra shots in honor of the same and did not want them to go unused. I feel it could be so much better, but I think we have all had a render that we felt like would never get done if we kept beating it to death. The final render of the large image took 12 hours at standard AA with slight contrast adjustments in Photoshop. Hope you enjoy and than you for looking.

Well! I like. I think it was well worth the time and effort and the broken CPU. I also like the main image bestest out of all of them.

Awesome modeling job you've done there. 3200 pfft =), you can do more than that. I'd like to see a bigger image of the material fading metaballs in the upper r/l images. Looks to be a very cool effect.

P.S. I tried to use soft shadowing for this but the first pass was'nt even a quarter done in an hour at a setting of 5. What a differance that tweek makes, huh?

I commend your patience! Working with that many metaballs is like placing objects in trees! Fantastic clarity and texture, but the lighting is a little harsh! Great work!
